It is a fact of life that in all areas of endeavor some people are more skilled than others.  If you or someone you care about suffers from chronic pain and a loss in life quality, then the most important thing you can do is find the most skilled pain physician in your area.  First and foremost, be certain that your pain provider is actually a licensed physician.  No doubt you have read in the newspapers or have seen on television advertisements for pain treatment by persons with "Dr." in front of their names who are actually chiropracters, not physicians.  Or, you may have seen ads claiming the discovery of new miracle treatments for back and other pain.   These claims are invariably misleading and overblown and often completely false.  We are aware of none that are made by real pain doctors.

Where your health or that of a loved one is concerned, you are well advised to look very carefully at the actual qualifications and experience of any medical provider you are considering. You have a right to ask a provider if he or she has a medical degree, where the degree was obtained, whether or not he or she is board certified (which means the provider has passed rigorous standardized examinations in his or her specialty), and how many procedures he or she has actually performed. Zion Pain Management Center, LLC was founded in 1998 by Dr. Dale Stott, a double board certified pain medicine specialist, and his wife Deborah, a registered nurse, to fill a need in Southern Utah with its large population of retirees and sports enthusiasts for a state-of-the-art pain clinic. Today the Center has a national reputation for excellence and draws patients from all over the western United States and Canada.
